Adam is recently retired as the Executive Director of the Sam and Rose Stein Institute for Research on Aging at the University of California , San Diego . Adam's education has been in Clinical Psychology and Group Processes and Organizational Development. He received his B.A. and M.A degrees in Psychology from Temple University , Philadelphia , PA , and is ABD in Educational Psychology, Group Dynamics.

Adam was a licensed Psychologist and practicing psychotherapist in Pennsylvania for
20 years engaging in individual, family and group psychotherapy. As an Assistant Professor at the Philadelphia Community College , he taught Psychology and Counseling courses. During this time, he was also a consultant for business and non-profit organizations in organizational development. He also served as the Chief Psychologist at a maximum security state correctional institution, and was the director of an substance abuse clinic. He has also consulted with other correctional systems as well as serving as an expert witness in competency and drug and substance abuse issues.

Adam is a student of psychology, mysticism, and spirituality and has read and practiced widely in these areas. Throughout the past 25 years, he has integrated his experience and understanding of psychology with his experience and understanding of spirituality into a psychospiritual perspective . His present focus is on conveying this psychospiritual process through individual guidance, public lectures, workshops, and training and in his writings.

Adam's present work is geared towards inspiring, and motivating people to commit to the process of self-realization, and the existentiation of their inherent divine attributes for personal fulfillment and for the betterment of the world.
